What is Travel mode on Bumble?

Bumble enables users to meet up with new people near to their location, which is perfect for going on dates in real life. You can find someone near where you live and quickly organise a meet to see if you’re a match.

But like most dating apps, Bumble often adds new features of their users. One of these is Bumble Travel mode, which was added to the Bumble app a few years ago.

Here’s everything you need to know about Bumble Travel mode, and how you can use it to get more matches.

Bumble Travel Mode: The Complete Guide

Bumble has introduced a Travel Mode to make connecting with matches from across the globe easier for people who have been locked in their homes for a year.

Bumble’s Travel mode allows you to change cities for a 7 day period of time. So when you visit a new location, you can essentially switch to that location temporarily until you return home.

It’s a good addition to Bumble, as it allows you to take it with you wherever you go.

So if you have a manic dating life that’s always on the go, using Bumble’s travel feature could be extremely useful.

How to activate Travel mode on Bumble

It’s very easy to activate Travel mode on Bumble. You can activate Bumble travel mode by;

  1. First, go into the Settings on your Bumble app.
  2. Next, scroll down to the Location section on your device.
  3. You’ll see a “Travel To” button, which you should tap.
  4. Then, you can search for the City you want t move to, and Select it.

You’ll then be moved to that City for a 7-day period.

You can easily turn this Travel mode off from your Settings by going back into your Settings and selecting Current Location instead.

When you switch to a different city, Bumble will stop using your GPS location and automatically place you in the City center of your chosen city.

This can be one reason that Bumble shows location but not distance, as the other user may be using Travel Mode in another location that’s out of your range.

Is Bumble Travel mode free?

Bumble Travel mode is not free of charge, so free users won’t be able to make use of it.

This feature is part of a Bumble Premium subscription, meaning you can use it as much as you like if you sign up for Bumble Premium.

For casual users it may not be worth it. However if you’re planning a holiday, business trip or just change location often, it may be a good idea to test it out.

The ability to enter your chosen destination and find potential matches in a new City can prove extremely useful, so it may be worth paying to be a premium user in some cases.

Bumble Travel Mode vs Tinder Passport

Bumble Travel Mode is generally considered a response to Tinder Passport, which was launched by Tinder prior to the release of Bumble Travel mode.

Both features provide the option to change your location to somewhere new that you plan on going. However they work a little differently.

Tinder Passport gives you the ability to change your location as much as you want. This is useful, but it can make it frustrating matching people that will never come to your city.

Bumble allows users to do this for a seven day period, and most Bumble users use the feature less liberally than those on Tinder.

So they both allow you to change your location, but Bumble’s feature is a little more limited (though for users, this can actually be a good thing).

Conclusion

Bumble is an increasingly popular app for online dating, and part of the reason for this is the features that it introduces.

One of these is Bumble Travel mode, which is intended to give people access to dating in new locations that they travel to.

Users can use Travel Mode to meet new friends online in a location that they’re not currently in.

This can prove extremely useful if you are constantly on the move but still want to match people on Bumble.
