The option to call and text on other devices is not available for all smartphones, but those with a network of different devices may find the feature useful.

Samsung smartphones have this feature built into them, as you can then connect it to your smartwatch, Samsung Galaxy tab or other Samsung device. Though this function may not be switched on your Samsung device as default, it’s easy enough to enable it.

One of Samsung’s devices that is quite good with this feature is the Galaxy Tab S8.

Call and Text On Other Devices with Samsung Galaxy

The setup of the Call and Text on Other Devices function can be done by enabling it from within your Settings.

To do this, all you need to do is;

First, click into the Settings menu on your Samsung phone.
Then, select Advanced Features.
Within Advanced Features, you should see the Call and Text on Other Devices option – toggle this

Once you do this, you’ll then be able to text on other Samsung devices – they should all connect together automatically.

This can include phones, tablets, laptops and smartwatches, which may all be used for sending and receiving messages.

Be sure to remember that these devices both need to be signed into the same Samsung account if you want them to connect properly.

You can then make calls, send SMS messages and also send Google messages from your other devices.

But, you may only see it referred to as Call and Text on Other Devices on Android.

You can also do this on iOS devices too, though the process for setting this up is a little different.

However, Samsung is most well known for having this devices feature.

How do you answer calls with Call and Text on Other Devices?

The ability to answer phones via their smartwatch or tablet can be easily done, and when you enable the setting, it should be pretty straightforward.

This is because when another device calls your phone, you will be notified via whichever device you’re using and are closest too. If they’re all within reach, they should all ring simultaneously.

Use can use the green talk button on your mobile device or other connected devices to answer the call.

What does Continue Apps on Other Devices mean?

Another commonly used feature is “Continue apps on other devices”, and you can find it on most Galaxy smartphones. It allows cross-device connectivity between Samsung devices.

What does this mean? Well, essentially the user can switch between their devices at their convenience whilst using the same app.

For example, you can download the same app on every device that you own. You make edits within the Android app on your smartphone, and then make further edits whilst you’re using your tablet.

This can be extremely useful if you use two devices often, as when you switch over to the other device, you can pick up where you left off.
