Crunchyroll app not working? Here’s why

When it comes to the best apps for watching anime, Crunchyroll is right at the very top. It’s well known for having a large library of both newer animes just released in Japan, but also more classic titles like Cowboy Bebop too.

But like any app, it can have occasional issues that stop it from working, which can be extremely frustrating for any user. If you’ve run into these issues when using Crunchyroll, then here’s what you should do.

Crunchyroll app not working – What to do

The main things that will cause your Crunchyroll app to stop working at actually related to the connection on your phone, not necessarily the app itself. In most cases, resetting your internet on both your phone and router/mobile data should fix the issue.

However, it does get a little more in-depth than that. If you want to get back to streaming your favourite anime shows, here’s what you should do.

Internet Issues

Like most apps you’ve downloaded on your phone, you’ll need an internet connection to use Crunchyroll – this is what causes most of the issues users have with the app.

So, you’re going to want to firstly reset your Wi-Fi router, and if you’re not connected to your home Wi-Fi, instead turn the mobile data on and off on your mobile. You can check whether it’s a problem with Crunchyroll or a problem with all of your apps by testing another one out to see if it works.

If you’ve done this and you’re still having trouble, it could be a good idea to check the Down Detector. What this will do is let you know whether there’s an issue with your phone or an issue with the broadband in your home, which you can only resolve by getting in touch with your internet service provider.

Server Issues

Make sure the issue lies in the Crunchyroll app rather than Crunchyroll’s servers. You can find out whether this is the case by going on https://www.isitdownrightnow.com/crunchyroll.com.html to check Crunchyroll’s server status.

Conclusion

In the majority of circumstances, the issues you’re facing with Crunchyroll with be something you can fix yourself – this could just be an issue with your connection, which is often solved by simply resetting things.

There is also a chance that the issue is actually with Crunchyroll and their servers – if this is the case, then there’s not much you can do. You can also try reaching out to Crunchyroll’s customer support to see if they can fix the issue for you.
