TikTok Video Dimensions – Screen Size & Aspect Ratio Guide

TikTok is a video creation platform, which let’s users record their own videos and share them online.

TikTok videos have their restrictions and recommended dimensions, and sticking to these recommendations will make sure your video shows up well on a normal smartphone screen.

Making sure you use the right TikTok video size is essential. In this article, we’ll go over some of these details.

TikTok Video Dimensions

We’ll firstly go over the dimensions of TikTok videos, as well as their aspect ratios, orientations, and supported file types.

The basic dimension of a TikTok video is 1080×1920. The aspect ratio should be 9:16 or 1:1. This is similar to the size of a phone screen. The default orientation of a TikTok video is vertical, and in most cases you’ll want to create a vertical video.

But, you can change it to horizontal if you so wish – you can switch to making a landscape video if you so wish.

When making Duets, you can also change the layout type. The default is a side-by-side split screen, but you can change the position of the split screen if you want.

TikTok Video Lengths

The default TikTok video length limit is 15 seconds. Every TikTok must be a minimum of 3 seconds long. You can change the video length limit when you record a TikTok.
