This page isn’t available right now – Facebook fix

Facebook is a social media platform with various subpages all inter-weaving to make an online powerhouse.

They have some of the greatest tech minds working for them in every department you could imagine but that still doesn’t stop the whole platform, or certain pages, from going down from time to time.

When this happens, you are likely to receive an error message that reads ‘this page isn’t available right now’. But is this the only instance when Facebook will send you this error message?

Well, if you’re looking for the answer to that question then you’re in the right place.

Today, we’re going to be looking at all of the most common reasons for this error message and the quick fixes to get around it. Let’s get started.

This page isn’t available right now – Facebook fix

The most common instance when you will see this error message is if you try to access a page or Facebook profile that you are blocked from. You may also have been banned from a Facebook business page.

When someone blocks a user on Facebook, it essentially means that their page or profile becomes inaccessible to that user.

If you have the URL for that profile/page then when you go to visit the webpage in question then you will receive the message saying that ‘this page isn’t available right now’.

While there is no concrete way of knowing for sure who has blocked you on Facebook there is one thing that you can do to figure it out.

Essentially, all you have to do is to ask a friend to log on to their Facebook account and see if the page is available to them to view.

If it is, then you can safely assume that you have been blocked, but if it isn’t then it could be down to one of the many other reasons which we are going to discuss today.

If it turns out that you have been blocked, then there is no way to get around the issue other than creating a new Facebook account and accessing it that way.

However, we would urge you to respect the privacy of the person that has blocked you and not do this.

Other reasons for this error message

There are a few other reasons why you may get this Facebook error, like your internet connection. Let’s check these potential issues out.

A deleted page

Facebook allows users to delete any pages they’ve created with just a few clicks of a button, much in the same way they allow them to deactivate their whole account.

Therefore, if you you are trying to access a page or profile and you receive the error message that ‘this page isn’t available right now’ then it is entirely plausible that it is because the page or profile you are trying to visit has been deleted or deactivated.

Again, the only way to figure out whether this is the case is to ask a friend or two to try and access the page to see if they are receiving the same message.

If they are, then try again in a few days and if you are still getting the same message then it’s fair to assume that the page has been deleted or deactivated.

A technical error on your end

Regardless of whether you are running Facebook on the mobile phone app or via a web browser on a computer/laptop, there are bound to be times where your selected device isn’t running as it should.

While this is more prevalent on the mobile phone app, you shouldn’t rule out your computer forcing Facebook to glitch.

When this occurs, the first thing you should do is reboot your device (or in other words, turn it off and turn it on again).

This should give your device time to wipe the slate clean and hopefully reload without background apps slowing the performance levels down which could be causing Facebook pages to not load properly.

If you are using the Facebook app, then you should also consider deleting the app and reinstalling it again from the App store or Google Play Store, depending on what operating system your phone uses.

This will also ensure that you are running Facebook on the latest version, which is worth doing to avoid any sort of technical glitch.

One final thing to check on your end, is that that you are connected to the internet. If you aren’t, then no pages on Facebook are going to load so ensure you have a solid and secure connection before browsing Facebook.

A technical error on Facebook’s end

As mentioned right at the top of the piece, Facebook isn’t immune to going down or facing technical issues and this can cause this error message to appear.

To check to see if Facebook is down, then you should visit this webpage.

If it turns out that Facebook is down and facing technical issues, then I’m afraid your only solution is to wait for the platform to be fixed.

You could also contact Facebook support to see if they can help identify the Facebook error. But, in most cases, it’s likely that you’ve been blocked.

Conclusion

To conclude, if Facebook is telling you that a page isn’t available then there isn’t a one size fits all reason behind it.

While the most common reason is that you have been blocked from seeing the page you are trying to view, that doesn’t mean that you should automatically jump to this conclusion.

Go through all of the other reasons we’ve listed above and try and find a work-a-round before accepting that you may never get to see the page again.
