How to stream Disney Plus on Discord – Quick Guide

Disney Plus is a popular streaming service associated with Disney, which offers content from Disney, Pixar, National Geographic, Marvel, Star Wars, and more.

Disney Plus is not a free service, and requires a subscription fee of £7.99/month or £79.90/year to use.

You can even watch Disney Plus with friends. There is no in-built function for watch parties, but you can stream the service on a different platform.

For example, you can stream Disney Plus on Discord and watch it with other users. You can also talk whilst watching Disney Plus using Discord’s voice feature.

How to stream Disney Plus on Discord

You can stream Disney Plus on Discord using both Windows and Mac devices, just like you can easily stream Netflix in the Discord app too.

We’ll start by explaining how you can stream Disney Plus on Windows.

On Desktop

Before you start trying to stream Disney Plus on Discord, make sure you log into Disney Plus on a browser.

Just open your browser app, go on the Disney Plus website, and log into your account. You can also choose to download the Disney Plus app and log in on there.

Once you’ve logged into your Disney Plus account, open up Discord. Enter the server you wish to stream Disney Plus in.

Make sure that this server has a voice channel, as you can only stream in voice channels.

To make sure that you stream the correct tab when you go live, you can add Disney Plus to your activity status on Discord.

Click on the gear icon in the bottom left, and scroll until you find the ‘activity status’ tab. Go on the tab and click the ‘add it’ option. Then, click on the drop-down menu.

Here, you can search for the Disney Plus app or your browser app, and click on it. Select the ‘add game’ option to add your Disney Plus tab to your activity status. Then, exit out of the settings by clicking the ‘x’ icon.

Next, click on the voice channel you want to stream in. In the bottom left corner, there should be a ‘voice connected’ section.

Above that section should be the name of the tab you’re about to stream. Check to make sure that it’s displaying the right tab.

If the tab is correct, click on the screen icon next to the tab name to start streaming Disney Plus.

Make sure that the Disney Plus tab is open and has not been minimised when you do this. A window should pop up. Click the ‘go live’ option to start the stream.

Alternatively, you can choose to skip the activity status step and have more control over what you stream.

You can even choose to stream your entire screen as opposed to a single tab if you so wish. Go on Discord and enter the voice channel you want to stream in.

Click on the screen icon beneath the ‘voice connected’ section. Make sure that your Disney Plus tab has not been minimised when you do this. A window should pop up, showcasing a list of your open tabs.

When you’re finished, select the ‘go live’ option to start your stream. Other server members can now join the stream. They can join the stream by simply entering the voice channel you’re streaming in.

On Mac

Open up Discord and log into your account. Then, either open the Disney Plus app and log in or go on the Disney Plus website and log in. Keep the Disney Plus tab open and don’t minimise it.

Next, return to the Discord app and click on the gear icon. Navigate to the ‘Voice & Video’ tab and scroll down to the ‘screen share’ section. Click the ‘install’ option.

You should now be able to stream audio in Discord. Exit out of the settings and enter the voice channel you want to stream in. Click the screen icon in the bottom left.

Now, select the tab you want to stream. You could also choose to stream your whole screen, which would not limit the stream to just a single app.

Be wary about doing this as the stream will showcase everything you do on your device.

When you’re done, click the ‘go live’ option to start streaming Disney Plus.

How to make a Discord stream full screen

You can make a Discord stream full screen by clicking on the stream, and selecting the ‘hide members’ option.

It should be the person icon near the bottom of the screen. Then, click the full screen icon in the bottom right corner to maximise the stream.

If your Discord stream has no sound, then just make sure that you check the Streaming tab and your Activity Status to ensure the settings are correct.

Disable Hardware acceleration

When you want to stream Disney Plus on Discord, it’s important that you disable hardware acceleration for it to run properly.

The hardware acceleration option can be good if you want to make your Discord server run faster. But when you begin streaming, it can stop your streaming services from working properly. This is why deactivating hardware acceleration is a good idea, and it can be done within your Discord settings.

Conclusion

In conclusion, you can stream Disney Plus on Discord using the screen share feature. You can stream your Disney Plus tab in a voice channel, and get other people to join the stream. This way, you can all watch Disney Plus together.
