How to set custom status on Discord

Discord is a free messaging platform, which can be accessed from their website or application. You can download the application from their official website. Discord offers a variety of features, including text-messaging, voice-chatting, statuses, adding Discord emotes, self assigning Discord roles, and much more.

Discord statuses allow you to set a status to your profile, which can tell other users what you’re currently up to. Discord has a set of default statuses to choose from, as well as an option to create a custom status. Discord has four default statuses.

Even if you set a custom status, you will always have a default status set on your profile. The four default statuses are Online, Idle, Do Not Disturb, and Invisible. Online means that you’re active on Discord. Idle means that you’re on Discord but not open to interaction. Do Not Disturb means that you won’t receive any notifications. Invisible means that you won’t appear as online even if you’re on Discord.

Creating a custom status will allow you to fully personalise your status. There is a character limit of 128, so keep that in mind when creating custom statuses. You can also only create one custom status at a time. Your Discord status should be visible underneath your profile/username in the user list. This is usually located on the right side of the screen.
