Whatsapp has various features, but the ability to send blank messages is not one of them.
However, there are ways to send empty messages on Whatsapp if you’re willing to do a little more research. We’ll go through some of the simplest ways in which you can do this.
How to send blank messages on WhatsApp
There are a few methods you can use to send empty messages on WhatsApp. They’re all roundabout ways for making WhatsApp think that a blank message contains something.
Only then will the message be deliverable. If WhatsApp thinks the message is blank, you will not be able to send it.
With a third-party app
The first method for sending an empty message on WhatsApp, is through a third-party app.
There are several ‘blank message’ apps, which allow you to send blank messages to various messaging apps. WhatsApp is usually a supported messaging platform in these apps.
However, these apps are mostly only available on the Google Play store, or android devices. iOS devices don’t have access to these apps, because the Apple App Store doesn’t have any ’empty message’ apps.

This is most likely due to the fact that you can easily send blank messages on iMessage, which is the default iOS messaging app.
You simply need to press the ‘spacebar’ and press send, and you can deliver a blank message. Therefore, there is no need for such an app, at least in regards to the iMessage app.

WhatsApp, on the other hand, doesn’t allow you to send a message if you press the ‘spacebar’. It doesn’t register a ‘space’ as ‘content’, so it doesn’t allow you to send a message that consists only of spaces.

You must at least input a number, symbol, punctuation, or letter; otherwise the message is undeliverable.

‘Empty message’ apps allow you to bypass this issue, using in-built blank message functions.
You can search ’empty message’ or ‘blank messages’ on Google Play to find these apps.

We’ll go through a few of the apps you can use, and how you can use them. These apps are all simple and easy to use.
If you’re using an iOS device, using a third-party app is probably not a viable option. Try skipping to the ‘without a third-party app’ method if so.
Using Blank Message app
One app you can use is the ‘blank message’ app.
Search ’empty message’ in the Google Play Store, and find the ‘blank message’ app. Press it to go to the app’s install page.

Press ‘install’ to download the app.
After downloading it, open the ‘blank message’ app.

The interface is quite simple. There’s a theme option, a copy option, and a slider that controls the text box size.
You can press ‘choose theme’ to change the app’s appearance from a list of options.

The blank blue message box is the empty message the app provides. You can change the size of the box by moving the slider. The text box increases in size as you move the slider to the right.

Finally, once you’ve customised the box to your liking, you can press ‘copy message’ to copy the empty message.

Now, go to WhatsApp and open the chat thread you wish to send an empty message to. Press the message input bar, and long press the bar to show the ‘paste’ option.
Press ‘paste’ to paste the empty message into WhatsApp.

Finally, press the send option to send the empty message.

Alternatively, you can press the ‘right arrow’ button (i.e. the send button).

This will bring up a list of options for where you can send the empty message. Press the WhatsApp option.

This will open WhatsApp, and take you to a list of contacts to choose from. Press the contact you wish to send the empty message to.

This will send the blank message to your chosen contact.

Using Empty Text! app
Another app you can use is the ’empty text’ app.
Search ’empty message’ in the Google Play Store, and find the ’empty text’ app. Press it to go to the app’s install page.

Press ‘install’ to download the app.
After downloading it, open the ’empty text’ app.

The interface is very simple. You can set a character amount for your empty message, or a row amount.
This will affect the size of the message box. You can only choose to customise one of the options.
To customise the character amount, press the circle next to ‘characters’; and then press the space next to ‘no. of blank characters’. You can now input a number.

To customise the row amount, press the circle next to ‘rows’; and then press the space next to ‘no. of blank rows’. You can now input a number.

After customising the empty message, press ‘generate’ to confirm the changes.

Press the ‘send option’ (or the right arrow button). This will bring up a list of options for where you can send the empty message. Press ‘WhatsApp.

This will open WhatsApp, and take you to a list of contacts to choose from. Press the contact you wish to send the empty message to.

This will send the blank message to your chosen contact.

Without a third-party app
Another method for sending blank WhatsApp messages, is by copy-and-pasting a ‘space’ into WhatsApp. The app doesn’t recognise a space inputted through your keyboard, as content.
However, the app does register spaces that are pasted, as content.
There are a few ways in which you can copy a space. You simply need an interface with spaced-out text, that also allows you to select and copy the text.
One such interface is an internet browser search.
Search something on your internet browser. It can be anything, such as ‘google’.

Next, select one of the spaces in a search result’s description.
If you’re on PC, hover over a space and hold left-click. Then, drag the mouse over the space to select it.

If you’re on mobile, or another touch-screen device, long-press on one of the words in the description to select it.

Then, drag the select area, using the left and right icons, until you’re only selecting a space.

Next, open Whatsapp. Press into one of your chats, and press the message input bar. Then, press and hold to open a set of options. Press ‘paste’ to paste the space into the message bar.

The send icon should now be available. Press the send button to deliver the blank message.

Conclusion
Whatsapp is available on both mobile and PC, and is well-known for allowing free international calls and messages.
You need only Wi-Fi or cellular data to use the app, so you can avoid call charges (though Whatsapp does use data quite eagerly!).
In conclusion, despite the lack of an ’empty messages’ feature, it is still possible to send blank messages in WhatsApp. There are two main methods of doing this.
You can either use a third-party ’empty messages’ app, or you can copy-and-paste a space from somewhere. These methods are all fairly easy to achieve. Unfortunately, there are no ’empty message’ apps on the Apple App Store.
Thus, if you’re using an iOS device; try copying-and-pasting a space from somewhere, like a google search page, instead.
