Discord is a free service, which allows you to text-message and voice-chat with other users. Discord also comes with a lot of other features, such as channels, roles, screen-sharing, and so on. You can even create fake messages in Discord using inspect element. Inspect element will also allow you to do things like alter your username/nickname, add emojis (though you can’t make custom emojis), and change the date/time.
How to inspect element in Discord
You can only use Discord inspect element on web browsers. You can’t access them through the Discord application. There are a few ways of using inspect element on Discord. We’ll mainly be covering how you can use inspect element on Google Chrome.
Firstly, you must go to discord.com/login and log into your Discord account. Once you’ve logged in, press CTRL + Shift + I. This will cause a side tab to appear on the right side of the page.
The tab should showcase the webpage’s code. By default, the element tab should be selected. Now that you know how to access inspect element, we’ll go through the different things you can use it for.
One of the things you can do with inspect element is changing the username of another Discord member. The member must be in one of your servers for this to work.
First, locate a message they’ve sent. Their username should be visible beside the message. Highlight either the message or the date above the message. Then, right-click on the highlight to open up a list of options. Select the ‘inspect’ option to inspect element.
The right side tab should now showcase the code for the section you highlighted. On the right side tab, locate the member’s username. You should be able to find it near the top of the tab. There’s a section underneath the element heading you can scroll through. Scroll until you find the username. Once you’ve found it, double-click on it to highlight it. Now, you can replace it with a new username of your choice. Keep in mind that this change is temporary, and will revert back to its original state if the page is refreshed.
Make a Fake Message
You can also use inspect element to formulate a fake message on Discord. You can do this by altering or replacing an existing message. You can alter one of your own messages, or a message sent by someone else.
First of all, find the message you wish to alter. Highlight the message text, and right-click on it. Then, select the ‘inspect’ option. The message’s code should appear in the right side tab.
Locate the message’s contents in the right side tab. You can find it by scrolling through the section near the top of the tab. The section should be directly beneath the element heading. Once you’ve found the message, you can alter it and replace it with your own message. To edit the text, double-click on it. When you’re finished editing the message, close the inspect element window. Remember that the fake message will revert back to its original text if you refresh the page.
Alter Date and Time
You can also use inspect element to alter the date and time of an existing message. Each Discord message has a date and time, which marks when the message was sent. You can use inspect element to change this information.
First, find the message whose date and time you wish to alter. Then, locate the date and time in the message. It should be beneath the username. Highlight the date and time, and right-click on it. Select ‘inspect’ to showcase the message’s code in the right side tab. This will also open the inspect element window if it wasn’t previously open.
Find the date and time in the inspect element window. It should be located near the top, underneath the element tab. When you find the date and time, double-click on it to start editing it. Once you’re finished altering the date and time, close the inspect element window.
You can use inspect element to reveal a hidden password for Discord. You may be wondering whether you’ve entered the password correctly, or you may simply wish to see the letters as you type them. You can view hidden passwords using inspect element.
Go to discord.com/login and type out your password. Highlight the password, and right-click on it. Then, click on the ‘inspect’ option to open up the inspect element window. It should appear on the right side of the screen.
Look near the top of the window. There should a section you can scroll through. Scroll until you find ‘type=password’. Once you’ve located it, double-click on ‘password’. Now, you can edit or replace the text. To make the hidden password visible on the webpage, replaced ‘password’ with another word, and pressing enter. For example, you can replace ‘password’ with ‘text’.
When you’re finished, close the inspect element window.
