How To Change your Cash App Password – Quickest way

Cash App is used to make millions of transactions every day and is a quick way to transfer cash between family and friends without having to take out physical cash or even meet them.

With such a quick way of accessing cash, it’s important that you protect your password, or as used in Cash App, your Cash PIN.

This PIN is used to gain access to your Cash App account and is used to confirm transactions, so it’s incredibly important that you keep it safe and know what it is. In the case that you don’t know how to change your Cash App password, we are here to help.

How to change Cash App Pin/Password

If you can access your app and you either don’t have a PIN, or you know your PIN already, it’s a very simple process to change your Cash App password.

The app has numerous security features built into it to enable you to secure your account and retrieve access if you are unable to get back in.

Some people refer to it as a password, but the PIN is the same thing. We are going to show you how to change your Cash PIN whether you have access to your account, or you don’t – you can use this for both personal and business Cash app accounts.

Assuming that you have access to your Cash App, the process to change your PIN is very easy and can be done in under a minute, and whether you have internet access or not.

Follow the steps below to change your Cash PIN quickly and easily.

Step 1 – Open the Cash app home screen

Open the app using your current PIN or biometrics. If you don’t know these, skip to “if you don’t have access to cash app.” Then we can help you get access back to your account.

Step 2 – Select the user profile icon

Tap the profile button on the top right. It’s the small circle with the silhouette of a person.

Step 3 – Scroll to the Privacy/Security section

Scroll down to privacy and security on the profile page.

Step 4 – Select change pin

Tap on “Change Cash PIN” at the bottom.

Step 5 – Enter pin or reset pin

Enter your current PIN. You should know this, but if you don’t, skip down to the section on “if you don’t have access to Cash App.”

Step 6 – Enter a new pin

Enter a new Cash PIN. Try to make it memorable, but not easy to guess.

Step 7 – Set up biometric

You have now successfully changed your Cash App password and can set up your biometric login for safer security.

Reset your Cash App pin without access

If you’ve forgotten your PIN and haven’t set biometric log in and can’t access your Cash App, then there are a couple of ways you can retrieve your pin reset request and change your Cash App pin.

When you created your account, Cash App required either an email address, phone number or both. You will be using these to regain access, so make sure you have either your phone number or email address at hand.

Step 1

Open the Cash App interface.

Step 2

Choose whether you want to recover Cash App via your email or phone number.

Step 3

Enter your email or phone, then wait for Cash App to send you a 6-digit security code.

Step 4

Once you have the code, enter it into your Cash App interface. This will regain you access to cash app but will not change the PIN (password.)

Step 5

Once you open Cash App, tap on the profile icon in the top right.

Step 6

Scroll down to privacy and security.

Step 7

At the bottom, tap “Change Cash App PIN.”

Step 8

Select “Forgot Cash PIN.”

Step 9

Cash App will send a code to either your phone, or email. Enter that code into the interface.

Step 10

Once you’ve entered the code, enter a new Cash PIN that’s secure and you can remember.

Cash App is fairly secure, but it’s only as secure as your PIN and keeping it secret. If your PIN is 1234, it’s not going to last long in the hands of a thief, and they will be able to transfer money to whoever they want. Make sure your PIN is memorable, but not easy to guess.

Even if you forget your PIN, following this guide will allow you to change it quickly and easily on the fly, whether you need to change it for security reasons, or you can’t remember it.

Just remember to keep your email address secure, and to never allow people unrestricted access to your mobile device, or they could read the PIN reset codes sent to your number.
