Here’s how to Block unknown callers on iPhone

Receiving repeated calls by unidentified people can be extremely frustrating. Even though there are laws and rules that prohibit the use of fake numbers, people still find a way around them.

Luckily, it’s actually pretty easy to block a number from incoming calls on the iPhone. Here’s what to do if you want to block unknown callers on your iPhone quickly so you can stop them calling you repeatedly.

How to block spam calls on your iPhone?

The easiest way for you to block spam calls on your iPhone is to do this via your Settings app.

Go into your Settings, then press Phone – here, you’ll be able to see the Silence Unknown Callers feature.

You can easily toggle this on and off, which will stop you from receiving calls from unknown callers.

This will stop you from getting calls from unknown numbers, but you can still get calls from numbers that you do know. So, you should also block specific numbers that you get spam calls from as well.

Block caller ID manually

If you know the numbers that you’re getting calls from, you can actually go into your Settings and block all of these caller ID calls manually.

You can do this by going into your Phone app and pressing onto the Recents tab to see the calls you’ve got from certain numbers.

Next to the number, you’ll see a small i icon – you can press this to bring up a new menu to select from.

You’ll then see the option her to Block This Caller. You should select this if you no longer want to get calls from this specific number, especially if you’re receiving spam calls from them.

Managing your blocked contacts

Once you add these numbers to your blocked callers list, they’ll no longer be able to contact you on your iPhone.

If you think you may have made a mistake, you can check the list of all the numbers you have in your blocked contacts list by going into your Settings, then phone, and then select Blocked Contacts.

This will show you a list of all the numbers you’ve blocked on your device.

Should you block unknown callers on iPhone?

Spamming calls are getting worse for many iPhone users, and in some instances, the ability to ignore something becomes necessary.

Scammers can still be found calling from phones that come up as unknown on your device.

So, if you want to block spam calls, then this is definitely the easiest way to do this. You’ll stop getting calls from these numbers, which is the goal for most people.

The downside of blocking calls on your iPhone from all of your unknown callers means that you could miss an important call.

This means that you should be careful with the calling blocking features, so although you may just want to silence unknown callers, you may end up blocking a call that you actually want to take.

An unwelcome call may cause nuisance, but in excess it can actually become more than just a nuisance – especially if the caller hides their name and you have no idea who it’s from.

Unfortunately, we are often interrupted or frustrated by calls from random numbers, and sometimes turning the volume button or using your silent button isn’t enough. Fortunately, it’s possible to block calls from unknown users on your iPhone pretty easily.

However you may end up missing calls from unknown callers that are actually valuable, so keep this in mind too.
