Gaming laptops have become a part of gamers’ lives these days. Studies show that in our latitudes, 75% of players prefer to buy a gaming laptop rather than a console. In the wake of this popularity, we decided to review the model range of one of the most famous manufacturers of gaming laptops—ASUS.
The ASUS gaming laptop lineup can be divided into 3 groups: TUF, Zephyrus, and ROG STRIX.
TUF series
TUF is famous, first of all, for its affordability and reliability. The TUF Gaming series includes not only gaming laptops but also motherboards, PCs, cases, keyboards, and mice.
The gaming laptop segment appeared in 2017, largely thanks to the release of the entry-level gaming video card Nvidia GTX 1050. Moreover, initially, the series was simply called ASUS Gaming, but even then, it was clear that the main efforts would be focused on the price-quality ratio.
According to the characteristics of the models in this series, they can easily handle all new gaming products, even AAA-level ones. The only question is which presets will be used – medium or maximum. Last but not least, of course, it depends on which model you choose – the variability of the series is off the charts.
Moreover, you can choose both models on the Intel and AMD platforms. The developers also took into account the demand for multimedia laptops among ordinary users, so in TUF, you can find ID not only in an aggressive gaming style but also in a more restrained design.
ROG STRIX series
The ROG STRIX series also appeared relatively recently – in 2018. It all started with the GL503 and GL703 models, and, as with the TUF series, the variability of configurations is impressive. Here, we can already see a purely gaming focus. Moreover, there is a very specific division for FPS and MOBA gaming laptops.
This game series was developed with the participation of professional eSports players. In particular, NIP CS:GO, if we talk about the most famous ones. As a result, we managed to create a line that allows the user to choose exactly what he needs.
Zephyrus series
The Zephyrus series, in turn, focuses on balanced solutions and maximum mobility. Here, we have traditionally high productivity, but they add important factors such as thinness, lightness, and autonomy of operation. The first-born in the series was the GX501 model, which appeared in 2017. At that time, it was the thinnest gaming laptop with GTX1080 graphics and a body thickness of only 16.9 mm with an AAS (active aerodynamic system) cooling system. The system has proven itself well and is still in use today.
A gaming laptop is a complete package. There are too many factors to consider to make a good product. It is not enough to simply assemble modern components and place them in some kind of shell. It is necessary to take into account what this very shell will look like, who the end user will be, and much more.
